Jon Lebkowsky is an Austin-based social and environmental
activist and blogger who has been working with Worldchanging
since its inception.
“Changing the World Is a Team Sport”—That
Requires Creative Ideas: The Worldchanging Story
Worldchanging.com is an exciting new (largely) virtual community
working for profound positive social and environmental change
on a global scale. The group’s premise is that the
tools, models and ideas for building a better future are
already here; what is needed is more connection between change
efforts, something that can be accomplished in large part
through technology. This session will first provide an overview
of the group’s work as a philosophy and social movement,
followed by an extended discussion about how the group and
its use of technology fosters the acceleration of social
innovation.
- Describe the Worldchanging organization, along with its
mission and methods, as an emerging exemplar in promoting
profound social innovation
- Explain the Worldchanging model for fostering social
innovation and the advantages and limitations of this approach
