slowed down.
Keynote: Storytelling in Organizations: Fad or Fundamental
to Success? What Narrative Leaders Know that You Might
Not
Leaders can be skeptical about storytelling in organizations;
they want results, not warm feelings. Other leaders have
learned that stories tie tightly to goals. Stories
can inspire action, build commitment, and produce results. Stories
seed direction, learning and shared values. Even better,
stories are more persuasive and memorable than the usual
business blah-blah. Why? Because we’re hard wired to
tell and remember stories. Yet, we don’t use our innate
ability to tell a story to advance our work or ourselves. Gerry
Lantz will demonstrate how to tap the power of story and
give examples of leaders who make stories work for them.
You will be called on to tell a story.
- use story as a tool in leadership, strategy, culture
development and change management in any institutional
environment
- craft their own motivating stories for their particular
organization's needs
- model other successful organizations' use of story to
benefit clients, customers, employees, and the world at
large
- lessen their dependence on PowerPoint and Spreadsheets
to do their talking for them
All levels will find of interest and useful
