Innovisation – Advanced Tools for Innovation
Structured models for problem solving may actually discourage
spontaneous thinking, and that’s no way to get more
innovation! What’s needed are tools to inject
more spontaneous thinking into structured methods. The
games of improvisational theatre are specifically designed
to develop spontaneous thinking capacity. Improv actors
at Second City and Improv Olympics learn to solve problems
real time with these games. These games have been adapted
by The Innovise Guys (Gregg Fraley and Doug Stevenson) into
a set of “Innovisation” tools to complement structured
methods like CPS or Synectics. Learn how to apply these
new tools to different stages of problem solving and achieve
breakthrough thinking.
- Think on their feet more quickly and be more spontaneously
divergent or convergent as the context demands
- Establish a mindset for themselves personally and as
a group that enables more spontaneous thinking within structured
processes
- See the parallels and differences between structured
creativity/problem solving methods and improvisation
- Use the primary cooperation rule of "Yes+And" to
begin establishing an Innovisation Culture in their organizations
- Use Innovisation tools on their own problems and challenges
- All levels will find of interest and useful
Experiential/ Hands-On
These tools are highly interactive and to really get the value
participants need to perform them, use them. |
